Campaign to Protect Rural England www.cpredevon.org A national charity formed in 1926 which aims to protect the countryside, the rural way of life and the rural economy. It is normally consulted by the planning authorities on all major planning applications in the countryside, including windfarms. CPRE has opposed most windfarms in Devon on the grounds of unacceptable impact on the landscape, and has given evidence at many of the ensuing public inquiries.CPRE gives free expert advice to organisations and individuals in membership on the planning system and on planning applications.
